About me ~

Hey I’m Steph! (she/her)

You’ve found my little corner of the internet, welcome! You’ve probably guessed by now, that I love a story, so here’s mine. I’m Steph, I’m an Ayrshire lassie, who loves animals, adventures, being outdoors or cuddled up with a good book & cup of coffee. I’m a registered nurse & worked for the NHS since 2010. I have my own shared studio space in the Old School building on Washington Street in Glasgow, where I hope to share my love of the yoga practice.

Yoga found me in 2020. I bought my 1st set of oracle cards (to give me something to do with my hands, while I tried to sit still) & started meditating daily, before going to work. I believe in yoga as a practice & as a whole, incorporating more than the asanas/postures alone. I believe the beauty of yoga, is that it is for everyone. Yoga doesn’t care if you’ve washed your hair, if you’re flexible or if you’re recovering from an injury. Yoga can help us move through life with more ease in body & mind on & off the mat. Yoga has helped me in uncountable ways, through burnout, anxiety, stress, pain, physical & emotional heaviness of grief. Yoga has helped me with creativity, past hurts & working with my inner child.

I love learning, & geeking out about fascia. I think this comes from my nursing background. I love anatomy & how unique each of us are, which is also why I LOVE a yoga prop. I also love knowing why something works, the way it does which is why I often geek out about the science & emotional body that is our fascia network.

I have trained in Hatha, Vinyasa, Pre & Post Natal, Myofascial Release Yoga. & had completed further CPD learning for hands on assists & Yoga for common injuries.

I don't teach from a place of perfected poses, I believe there's a version of each pose to suit our body, as unique as us. I encourage an embodied approach in my classes, allowing you to experiment & discover what feels good in your body, yet challenging in the mind

As I live with the seasons & honour the Celtic wheel of the year, you’ll find a lot of seasonal themes in my yoga classes & yoga in nature like my, From the Forest sessions. I also love working with the moon & astrology. I love foraging & baking, climbing munros & being with my rescue greyhounds, Kodalune & Kaia, (otherwise referred to as the Yin & Yang hounds). I love the gym & how intertwined my strength training is with the strength & progress in my yoga practice.

I love building & creating wholesome community spaces, hosting retreats & planning social events alongside my yoga, which is where Yogi Book Club comes in, which recently celebrated it’s 2 year anniversary.

Leské in Polish slavic means those who dwelled in the woods, hence the name of my soul baby offering of: From the Forest. We are nature & slowing down to reconnect with the Earth & ourselves, is something we all need to be doing more. I believe that yoga, being in nature & self-study are a remembering, to practices, or ways of being, that life has tried to make us forget.

I'm a spiritual girlie, who just wants to share what love about the yoga practice & serve you hot custard in the woods. Capture that inner child essence to run wild & free, (reference to my favourite book Women who Run with the Wolves.)

I love magpies, & that probably comes from being a bit of a human magpie myself. I love trinkets. There are certain objects you won't see me without on a walk or at the top of my yoga mat.

I can't put into words what this profound practice has brought me, but hopefully I can spend the rest of my life trying to share & give some of that magic back.

Thanks for reading, hug a tree, drink your water, rescue a hound, be nice to pigeons, & vote. Hope to meet you soon, in the studio, or in the forest.

Ethos & Values

  • Warmth, welcoming space & kindness.

  • Honouring the roots of the yoga practice, there's enough harm in the wellness industry, & I am aware of my privilege in this world as a white cis gendered woman.

  • To share the practice of yoga & how is has helped me through many physical & emotionally turbulent times

  • To create practices that feel progressive, playful, creative & embodied. I want people to feel the asanas/poses, not feel like they have to look a certain way, or perform in my studio space.

  • To give you true self love & care tools for you to deepen & practice off the mat.

  • To have fun, I don't take myself serious & you shouldn't have to either! I'll misname my knee for a shoulder, forget where I'm going mid flow of a story or Dharma conversation but I am only human.
